The Dothan Conference Center - Welcome to Dothan's first, largest and most modern meeting facility. Let us take a moment to fill you in on our unique facility and its features which are designed to make your event a success.
Since 1975, our staff has organized and promoted literally thousands of meetings, parties, weddings, receptions and banquets of virtually every type imaginable. Attendance ranges from 10 to 600 guests. That means we've been in your shoes and we know what a struggle it is to organize and administer successful events. This uniquely qualifies us and our staff to ensure the success of your special event.
Facilities
The Dothan Conference Center is housed in a 20,000 square-foot facility situated on five acres of landscaped grounds. The Dothan Conference Center takes up 9,000 square-feet of that facility. For guest convenience during inclement weather, we have a covered drive-through entry and a reception area with a beautifully decorated 1,000 square-foot lobby for guest registration and socializing. Our business offices have state of the art FAX, Internet and copier services immediately available to assist in meeting administration.
We have two 1,400 square-foot meeting rooms with 14 foot ceilings that combine to create a 2,800 square-foot meeting room. An additional 3,600 square-feet brings the total meeting space to 6,400 square-feet in one room - not only Dothan's first and finest meeting facility, but also its largest. Partitions separating meeting rooms have been upgraded to literally double the sound resistance rating - an important point with simultaneous meetings. We even have additional board rooms on-site for breakout sessions when needed.
Lighting
Each meeting room combines fluorescent and incandescent lighting, controlled by rheostats, to create any mood you desire; or for precise lighting for note taking during video, PowerPoint or overhead presentations. Impressive chandelier lighting creates a more formal atmosphere for your wedding or banquet event.
Sound
The Dothan Conference Center has a state of the art sound system consisting of 24 speakers. speakers that include six pairs of individually controlled ceiling-mounted public address speakers, four corner-mounted music/audio speakers, and two sub-woofers. This provides separation of audio and music/video through separate systems; or the two can be combined with the flip of a switch. For larger parties we can roll out two supplemental commercial JBL speaker systems...and roll back the carpet to reveal a commercial quality vinyl dance floor so you can "party down!" We even have a sound control board so that your DJ can keep your favorite songs coming all evening.
Audio-Visual
Other facilities have lots of problems in this sensitive area. With that in mind, we're supplying state of the art AV equipment to include:
• Digital projectors to enlarge and enhance all video and PowerPoint presentations
• A 4,000 lumen overhead projector
• Large 7'x7' projection screens so everyone can see clearly 4-head, stereo VCR's with overhead or digital projection for movies or training videos.
• Microphones - include both rostrum-mounted or wireless hand-held or a lapel system.
• Projection Video - Our state of the art multi-media video projection system allows for PowerPoint or other projected presentations through your computer or ours.
• DBS Link - DCC has available direct broadcast satellite links for training via satellite. This also provides a unique opportunity to entertain employees and clients with pay-per-view broadcasts of sports or other televised events.
Catering
Although DCC has no food preparation facilities in-house, we feature a long list of approved caterers from which to chose, and can coordinate a variety of catering options for hors d'oeuvres, breakfast , lunch, dinner or meeting breaks.
Beverages
As a licensed provider of your favorite soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, we can accommodate your needs for receptions of all kinds, either with open or cash bar arrangements. Security is available for major functions involving beverage service.
Patio Receptions
DCC offers a patio and garden area directly off our conference room for outdoor entertaining, receptions or just plain relaxing between meetings. We even have a half-mile nature trail with picnic tables and benches for private walks or after-meeting exercise.
Administrative Assistance
To get your meeting off to a fast start, DCC has a friendly, trained staff who can assist with registration, while you attend to last minute meeting details. We can even provide computer generated name tags and table placards.
Seating
Meeting planners can choose from classroom, theater or banquet seating arrangements. And here's another small but important point: All our deluxe conference seating has extra wide, four-inch-thick, high density foam seats and backs with lumbar support. We even have chair covers to provide a "formal touch" for wedding receptions and parties.
Cleanliness
This is our specialty. You'll never have a problem with a soiled, smelly facility at DCC. That we guarantee!
Safety
We also provide for guest safety. Our building has all steel framing, with fire-rated walls and a complete sprinkler system. We have a full security system, and trained security personnel are available as needed.
